About the event
Restorative Yoga with Louise begins with centering and breathwork to help students become fully present, while activating the parasympathetic nervous system. We will enjoy a gentle warm up, also known as somatic movement, to create internal heat and to get the kinks out of the body so it can fully rest before transition into restorative yoga poses. You will learn the art of deep relaxation by utilizing different breath techniques, visualizations, meditations, and yoga poses.
Just a few of the measurable benefits of deep relaxation are a decrease in inflammation due to auto immune diseases, the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, an increase of “good cholesterol levels, improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of insomnia muscle tension and generalized fatigue.
For this class please have a couple of pillows & blankets or towels (the more the better!) and a long scarf (optional), or if you have props you know you like to use, have those ready. Also, keep a chair close by for legs up/on the chair.
