200 Hour

Interested in taking your yoga practice to the next level?

If so, the 200-hour Yoga Training Program at Studio Gaia is for you! Our program is designed for students interested in learning more about yoga & for students who wish to become yoga teachers.

Our focus at Studio Gaia is to create a safe community space for students to explore how yoga practices can enhance their own lives and their relationships, how to build a strong foundation for home practice and how to share the practices of yoga through teaching classes.

Our program focuses on learning the alignment of the postures and ways to modify the poses to make the practice more gentle or more advanced.  Our program also focuses heavily on sequencing using our Three Wave Sequencing Model and concepts we feel are foundational for creating effective practices.  The curriculum of our training is based on both physical anatomy and energetic anatomy, and students will learn how to create greater balance within themselves and their lives and teach others to do the same.

Students will study a variety of subjects including:

  • Postural alignment

  • Sequencing

  • Anatomy and Physiology

  • Energy anatomy

  • Yoga Ethics

  • Ayurveda and Nutrition

  • Environmental Impacts of Food and Lifestyle Choices

There will be an emphasis on the following topics:

Postural Alignment:

Students will learn postural alignment, modifications, and advanced variations, as well as the benefits & contraindications of a variety of yoga poses. The focus will be on learning different variations of the yoga poses and how to use them to create specific energetic effects!

Sequencing:

Students will explore the science & art of sequencing. Students will learn how to design sequences around specific muscles, philosophical themes, and rhythms of natures including daily, seasonal, and moon cycles. The focus is on finding your own unique voice as you design creative sequences!

Anatomy and Physiology:

Students will explore the nervous system, the role of posture in chronic pain, and gain an understanding of the spine & how to create balance in the opposing muscle groups to increase strength, flexibility, and resiliency in the body!

The program is certified under Yoga Alliance, and students will be able to register with the organization upon program completion.

Cheryl Kimutis, 200hr YTT 2019

"I feel this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The personal and spiritual growth is amazing. I am so happy and proud of my life change.  If you are thinking about doing this for yourself, don’t put it off. Jump in with both feet and take the journey. You won’t regret it."

Anne Hughes, 200hr YTT 2019

"The instructors were well prepared for each session and were extremely knowledgeable. During this training, I was fully prepared to learn the benefits of asanas and proper alignment and breathwork. I found that this teacher training was so much more. We were completely immersed in the entire yoga philosophy and am so pleased that I have a much deeper understanding and appreciation of all that the practice of yoga has to offer one. I experienced a personal and spiritual growth that was unexpected and that I believe has put me on the pathway of being my best self."

Chelsea Burdge, 200hr YTT 2019

“I not only learned yoga poses and gained confidence in how to teach but became a part of a community and grew a new sense of joy, gratitude, and peace. This training truly changed my life!”
